Personal Profile

I was a prolific songwriter in my teens and twenties but I pursued a

career in education. That career sapped most of my energy and

creativity for more than thirty years and I stopped writing.

I am now writing music again, at the age of 60, in a variety of styles -

pop, folk, light orchestral and choral music. I intend to work hard and

be successful. I now have the time and I have a real passion. My

musical creativity has been dormant for a long time and is now ready

to flourish again. I have had some early success and have 2

published songs. I intend that many more will follow.

The guitar playing started in my early teens and I was told by a friend

that I was writing songs then. In my late teens I wrote songs with a

friend John from school and we used to regularly visit music

publishers in central London with no success - we came close once.

At University I became interested in folk music and ran the folk club

where I played regularly, eventually forming a group with a guitarist

friend Stuart and singer, Lynette. I wrote songs and they were

regularly performed.

Then came the reality of life at work. I continued to write songs up

until about 1980 and then for no apparent reason stopped. In the

early 80s I played for fun with some friends and again that stopped. I

always said that one day I  would record my songs.

I produced an album of these songs in 2009
