The making of the 2009 album
In early 2009 I bought a new 6 string guitar and an Eko guitar
and I practised hard. I googled recording studios and as a result
contacted the Artists Studios, Bristol and the rest is history.
I met Ben Woodward and started the process of recording
songs written between 1970, when I was 19, and 1980.
We started in January
2009 and completed 15 tracks by August 2009.

I sing on 7 out of 10 vocal tracks and play the guitar on most tracks.
I am pleased that I have been able to play the guitar to the same
standard as when I was younger. I also surprised myself in my ability
to work out harmonies. I don't read music and I play by ear. My voice
is much lower than it was.

My contribution to the album is;
Vocals - Tracks 2, 3, 6, 11,12,14,15. 12 string guitar -Tracks 1,
2, 11,8, 13. 6 string guitars. All tracks except 1, 2 ,9, and 11

Ben Woodward has been an inspiration especially in terms of his
ability to make musical arrangements and to orchestrate some of my
songs. I have also learnt a massive amount about recording
practices and the workings ofa studio. He has also played piano on 2
tracks - brilliantly on track 9, Over and Over and Over and sung on 5
tracks.
Ben manages the Artist Studios
He is already a very talented producer and musician and one day he
is going to be extremely successful and famous.

Anna Ruth Young sings on 8 tracks.
www.myspace.com/annaruthyoung. Her contribution to the album
has been immense. She has been a pleasure to work with not only in
terms of her great singing and great musical ear but also her
patience and calm nature. I wish her every success with her new,
great EP - Silly Heart.
Anna's contribution to the album is;
Vocals - Tracks 1,2,3,6,11,12,14,15
